I have 30 years’ experience as an OT across the Private Sector, NHS and Social Services working in people’s homes, the community and Hospital settings. My core expertise is addressing complex housing problems, providing specialist equipment, ensuring safe manual handling and providing appropriate seating. I am skilled at working with adults and children with a broad spectrum of disabilities including conditions present from birth, acquired injuries, lower limb amputations, neurological impairment and those in a minimally conscious state. I provide thorough assessments and recommendations to support my clients’ goals. I aim to optimise the home environment to enable independence or supported participation in everyday tasks, work, hobbies and family life. This includes enabling control over the environment, participation in home therapies where available and safe access to all areas of the home.
I work closely with the client, family and multidisciplinary team including architects and surveyors to create future-proofed, accessible homes. I have successfully managed major adaptation projects, including property redesigns and new builds. This has enabled clients to move from long-term care into their own homes, find temporary or long-term housing solutions, return to work or sports, and improve their overall quality of life.
I also worked as a Case Manager for 5 years, which gave me a comprehensive understanding of the litigation process and needs of the legal teams to provide balanced, clinically reasoned recommendations for my clients. I am dedicated to enabling the best possible outcomes for my clients and their families, whatever their circumstances.
